LANDSCAPE DESIGN

The Ashton Landscape Design was thoughtfully developed to enhance the natural character of this rural property while introducing structure, flow, and functional outdoor living spaces that feel seamlessly integrated with the home’s architecture.

At the front of the property, a clean and grounded approach was created using large-format armour stone to frame the entry sequence. Custom stone steps and retaining elements establish a strong sense of arrival while working harmoniously with the home’s modern farmhouse aesthetic. A carefully aligned interlock walkway provides both durability and visual continuity, guiding visitors from driveway to entrance with a refined yet natural transition.

The design continues to wrap the home with linear armour stone retaining walls that not only manage grade changes but also anchor the structure visually into the landscape — creating a balanced relationship between built form and surrounding terrain.

To the rear, the project evolves into a functional outdoor living environment. A custom screened structure extends the usability of the space while maintaining open views of the property. This feature was intentionally designed to feel like a natural extension of the home — offering protection from the elements without compromising connection to the outdoors.

Surrounding the rear living zone, stepped armour stone terraces and interlock hardscaping define gathering areas while preserving the openness of the lawn beyond. Subtle transitions between elevations allow the landscape to feel intentional rather than imposed — blending recreation, relaxation, and circulation into one cohesive experience.
